But I agree with your president Hanley when he says the SCOTUS decision motivates unions to 'sell' their value to the membership.Jim Nuznoffnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1653698584448495601.post-75564613598488644372018-07-06T12:46:05.631-07:002018-07-06T12:46:05.631-07:00I think the only thing you left out in your awesom...I think the only thing you left out in your awesome blog post is what do union dues pay for...

Well having gone to a Trimet Board Meeting and watched quite a few - thanks Al - on YouTube, they go for at the least:

*Presentations to the Trimet Board
*Legal representation
*Filing grievances
*Banners, signs, T-shirts, et al
*Member outreach
*Community outreach

All of the above COSTS REAL MONEY.Joehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06213420068329427745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1653698584448495601.post-20713973260398510302018-07-06T02:21:54.301-07:002018-07-06T02:21:54.301-07:00Nah...Al has been one of my blog’s biggest support...Nah...Al has been one of my blog’s biggest supporters from the beginning. Sorta like trimet management and board. These people exist solely to make sure that the people in power remain in power. They have no concern about ‘we the people’. Basically the ‘supreme court’ is just another scam. And I could go along with this ruling EXCEPT it still requires the union negotiated contract to be applied to non union members. People that don’t want to be in the union good luck to you, negotiate your own contract. But in this society, a society run my a psychopathic elite, you can be a scab and still get the union deal. F’k that. I’m a retiree and I voluntarily pay dues, for the simple reason that I know how important the union truly is. The country we now inhabit has long ago stopped representing ‘We the people’. This is the final nail in the coffin. The ignorant masses are easy to fool, the oligarchs understand that. Al Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06670275801784105978noreply@blogger.com
